Deer Run House Fire

November 26th, 2016 - Wintergreen Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Deer Run early Saturday morning. Crews arrived on scene to find a house fully involved with fire showing on three sides.

The fire quickly spread to the nearby woods at the rear of the house. Crews from Rockfish, Faber, Lovingston, Piney River, Department of Forestry, and Wintergreen worked to get the house and woods fire under control. Medic 151 and Medic 178 provided rehab for crews working and Red Cross was dispatched to the scene to assist the homeowners. Nelson County Sheriff's units and Virginia State Police were also on scene. No injuries were reported and the fire was contained in approximately six hours.
