MVC - Route 29 near Shady's

Wintergreen Fire Department and Wintergreen Rescue Squad were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash (MVC) on Route 29 just South of Shady’s near Route 6. It was reported as a tractor-trailer and mini van involved with unknown injury. When units arrived on scene they found a tractor trailer on its side across both lanes of Route 29. Traffic was already backed up for miles and Squad 15 on scene assumed command. One patient was transported to the hospital and the remaining fire unit controlled traffic for several hours. Units on scene were Lovingston Fire, Faber Fire, Rockfish Fire, and Wintergreen Engine 62, Squad 1, Response 174, Medic 924, Nelson County Sheriff’s, and Virginia State Police.
