Structure Fire - Wintergreen Mountain

Just before midnight Wintergreen Fire Department was called to a mountain home to investigate smoke billowing out around a beam above the fireplace. Fire had escaped the metal flue and was burning behind the walls. This is the type of fire that would have been burning through the roof in 30 more minutes.

A professional chimney inspection (with a camera) will typically find these types of weaknesses in your flue. If you haven't had your chimney inspected recently, you may want to add it to your list.
