Motor Vehicle Crash on Wintergreen Drive

December 17, 2016–Wintergreen Fire and Wintergreen Rescue were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash on Wintergreen Drive this evening. Units arrived on location to find a passenger vehicle on its side with the driver entrapped. Crews worked for approximately 30-45 minutes to extricate the patient.

The patient was transported to UVA by ground due to no helicopters being available. Units on scene were Medic 179, Response 173, Response 9, Squad 1, Ambulance 176, Engine 1, Wintergreen Police Department, Nelson Sheriff's Office, and Virginia State Police. Thanks to Waynesboro First Aid Crew and Wilson Fire Department for standing by during the incident.
