Structure Fire - Augusta County

Wintergreen Fire Department was dispatched to help out our mutual aid partners to the west in Augusta County early this morning for a Church on fire in the Sherando area. Since this was just prior to shift change for us we had many of staff that live in Augusta County drive up on the fire. When crews first arrived there was heavy fire from the Chapel area. Crews worked throughout the morning to get the fire under control. There were no injuries reported in the incident. Crews on location were from Augusta County Fire & Rescue, Wilson Volunteer Fire Department, Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire Department, Waynesboro First Aid Crew, Virginia State Police, Wintergreen Truck 61, Response 174, Captain 65, and Chief 62.
