Tractor/Trailer Fire - Route 29

Wintergreen Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid to a tractor/trailer fire on Route 29 in the area of the 14,000 block. Upon arrival crews found the road tractor fully involved moving towards the trailer hauling roles of paper. Crews were able to water on the fire quickly and contain the fire primarily to road tractor. Some adjacent vegetation was also involved, however quickly extinguished. Crews on scene were from Lovingston Fire Department, Rockfish Fire Department, Faber Fire Department, and Piney River Fire Department. Wintergreen units on scene were Tanker 62 and Medic 924. There were no injuries reported on scene.
