K9 Rescue - Crabtree Falls

Wintergreen Rescue Squad was dispatched to Crabtree Falls for a K9 that was injured on the other side of the falls. Upon arrival Nelson County Animal Control and Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were already on location reporting they could barely see the dog and heard it barking. Wintergreens Technical Rescue Team hiked to the location of the dog and was able to setup safety lines to make it across the water to where the dog was located. The dog was safely returned to the parking lot where Animal Control gave it a safe place to stay until it was reunited with its owner. Also on scene and assisted was Piney River Fire Department.
